For those unwitting, Play2Earn is the concept of rewarding time spent and skills acquired with appropriation of in-game utility, in this case a token (ERC20/ERC721/ERC1559). By contributing to a continuous growth the players now have an opportunity to earn rewards from the blooming in-game economy.
The two most common concepts usually fall into two categories: Loot and Card Game.
As an example, Axie Infinity, one of the earliest Play2Earn games is precisely that: a Card Game. In Planet IX the players will start with a looting concept and in the second half of 2022 a Card Game will be introduced. More about that in our Roadmap.
The Planet IX Loot concept will take its form in cleaning the earth's surface from all the waste, remnants and debris covering this wasteland of a planet. The first mission as an AoC is to take care of your own PIX. Subsequently, the second mission will entail exploring other players' PIX for loot.
Card game mechanics and functionalities will be introduced prior to its launch. A dedicated arena to fight in-game eco-terrorism serves as the foundation in this additional gameplay for extra rewards.
